Words Players Theatre is looking for volunteers to help in the following areas. We’re also open to anyone who would like to oversee these areas — which all basically have to do with facility upkeep and maintenance — and help make them happen.
We’re also looking for someone who would be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our minstrel wagon. A wagon master — to help us figure out logistics, make decisions, etc.

Ensure working order of building operations (plumbing, electricity, locks, doors, etc.) as well as building equipment (microwave, vacuum, etc.)
Make repairs as needed/make sense. Or. Make arrangements for repairs (with property manager, repairs to bldg., with director or exec. director for repairs to the theatre’s own equipment/appliances)
Inform/request through Exec Director any funds needed for repairs/replacing theatre items.
Manage requests from staff/casts/volunteers to building. Either provide access, make arrangements for someone else to do so, or provide a key for their access.
Ensure cleanliness is maintained in facility.
Clean facility regularly or recruit cleaning volunteers and develop a list of what to do, and when it will be done, i.e. vacuuming, sweeping, trash emptying, etc.
Remove filled garbage bags from building. We don’t have trash service so rely on volunteers to take home trash bags to dispose of in their own containers.
Keep track of paper and cleaning supplies at the facility. Initiate a request for volunteers to donate any items needed, or talk with Executive Director about any purchases needed.
Handle lost and found items.
Dispose of any large trash items, as needed, i.e. broken furniture, etc. Either haul to dump or make arrangements for that to happen.
Serve as primary contact between Words Players Theatre and the property manager, asking questions as needed, responding to inquiries as required.
Communicate any relevant information/needs to Executive Director or Director.
Ensure that costumes, props and tech equipment have sufficient storage space, are stored properly, and are accessed as needed. Coordinate such with costume and tech people, as well Executive Director and director.
Responsible for the Words Players U-Haul truck, ensuring it is in working order, that repairs are made as needed, that it is current in title and insurance, and is stored. Work with Executive Director on any monetary needs.
