The Fantasticks, the world's longest running musical, tells the age-old story of two lovers meeting over the wall between their houses that was built by their fathers, who are in the midst of an arranged feud: "Children, I guess, must get their own way the minute that you say no," the fathers sing. But things take an interesting twist ("For life never ends in the moonlight night") when El Gallo, the narrator and girl's kidnapper (hired by the fathers), becomes the girl's attraction; for he knows that "the story is not ended and the play is never done till we've all of us been burned a bit and burnished by the sun." Shows in Lanesboro and Rochester.
